Lourdes hit .373 for the match on Friday evening and posted its third straight victory, defeating Saint Xavier 25-19, 25-23, 25-14 inside of the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill.

Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We did not pass very well, but we hit efficiently. Our serving improved a bit which helped our block."

Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) and
Colby Magorien (Agoura Hills, Calif./Westlake H.S.) led the way for the ninth-ranked Gray Wolves with 10 kills each with Gebert swinging at a .588 clip without any errors. Magorien hit .350 on the night while
Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) added nine kills.

Ryan Maune (Washington, Mo./Saint Francis Borgia H.S.) hit .455 with seven kills, but added four service aces as well.Â
Ian Fields (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) and
Ryan Ferkel (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly H.S.) both distributed the ball well with 24 and 16 assists respectively.

Defensively, Magorien completed a double-double with a match-high 14 digs while
CJ Rilveria (Kula, Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) added 10 more.

Leading 9-7 in the opening set, Lourdes went on a 9-3 run to seize control early in the match. The Gray Wolves trailed 15-11 in the second stanza before scoring six straight points to take the lead for good and build a 2-0 advantage in the match. In the final set, Lourdes never trailed and scored six straight points, four on the Maune aces, to pull away.

Sean Barry led Saint Xavier (2-5) with 10 kills while the Cougars hit just .120 for the night. Lourdes held a 39-18 advantage in digs.

Lourdes (6-3) will conclude its road trip on Saturday morning, traveling to Calumet. The opening serve is set for 10:30 a.m. EST from the Rittenmeyer Center in Whiting, Ind.
