Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: The final homestand of the 2017 season begins on Friday as the Gray Wolves welcome Saint Xavier to the Ebeid Rec Center for Senior Night.  Lourdes continues the homestand on Saturday, hosting Calumet in matinee action.

On the Air: The match against Saint Xavier will be broadcast tape-delayed by BCSN on Buckeye Cablesystem.  The game will air on BCSN at 3:30 a.m. and noon on Saturday.  In addition, BCSN2 will show the match on Friday night at 10 p.m., Saturday at 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Monday at 1:30 a.m.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his sixth season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 106-49 (.684) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He was named to the MAMVIC East Coach of the Year in 2012 and the Great Lakes Conference Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015 while earning Mideast Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2016.  Reitz is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 14-0 all-time against Saint Xavier in a series that dates back to Jan. 20, 2012.  The Gray Wolves swept the Cougars in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 10, the fifth straight three-set victory for Lourdes in the series.  Lourdes is 5-0 all-time in "home" matches against Saint Xavier.  Lourdes holds a 5-0 series edge over Calumet dating back to Feb. 3, 2015.  The Gray Wolves have swept the Crimson Wave in all five contests, including a match on Feb. 11 in Whiting, Ind.  Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against Calumet in "home" contests.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped all three contests last week, facing three teams ranked in the top-three in the NAIA top-10 poll.  The Gray Wolves fell in straight sets at third-ranked Missouri Baptist on Monday despite 12 kills and a .348 hitting mark from Zachary Hawkins.  Lourdes went to third-ranked Park on Wednesday and fell in four sets.  Colby Magorien led the Gray Wolves with 16 kills.  The week ended with a four-set loss at top-ranked Grand View.  Evan Gebert and Magorien each had 16 kills for Lourdes.

Scouting Saint Xavier: The Cougars head to Lourdes after falling in their last four matches, including setbacks by Graceland and Ottawa on Saturday.  Sean Barry leads Saint Xavier with 165 kills on the season for a team hitting .162 overall.  Aaron Kummer has a team-high 271 assists while Dan O'Keefe is the team leader with 30 service aces.  O'Keefe's 0.55 service aces per set rank fifth in NAIA while Saint Xavier is sixth as a team tallying 1.47 aces per set. Dominic Villa leads the Cougars with 121 digs while Ben Gabor has recorded a team-high 48 blocks.

Scouting Calumet: The Crimson Wave are still looking for their first victory of the season, and have been swept in eight of their last nine contests, including March 9 against Saint Andrews.  Calumet faces Trinity Christian on Wednesday before heading to Lourdes.  Trevor Wagner leads Calumet with 151 kills for a team hitting just .041 on the year.  Wagner also leads the team with 12 service aces and 90 digs this season.  Liam Fagan has handed out 302 assists while Jose Gonzales has tallied 23 blocks.

Thanks Seniors:  Prior to Friday's match with Saint Xavier, Lourdes will honor its three seniors: Ryan Ferkel, Zachary Hawkins, and CJ Rilveria.  Ferkel has handed out 1,961 career assists over his four-year career while Hawkins has tallied 482 kills and 242 digs at Lourdes since transferring in prior to last season.  Rilveria has racked up 923 career digs in his four seasons at Lourdes.

Nearing 1,000: CJ Rilveria enters the week needing just 77 more digs for 1,000 over his four-year career.  With 278 digs this season, he leads off of NAIA men's volleyball averaging 3.76 digs per set in 2017.

Closing in on 2,000: Ryan Ferkel enters play on Friday needing just 39 assists to reach 2,000 over the four years he has been at Lourdes.  He has helped lead a Lourdes offense this year which is second in total assists (12.62/set) and ninth with a .257 hitting percentage.

Swinging With Authority: Ryan Maune has hit .400 or higher in 15 of the Gray Wolves' 20 matches this season. His .427 hitting percentage overall ranks seventh among all NAIA players. Maune leads Lourdes with 209 kills on the year (2.82/set).

Home Court Advantage: Lourdes has posted a 6-1 record inside its new home, the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center, this season.  All-time, the Gray Wolves are 40-10 in "home" contests.  The Ebeid Rec Center has proven to be a tough place for visitors to win in volleyball, as the men's and women's teams are a combined 17-1 inside of the facility.

Shifting Conferences: NAIA has reshuffled its conferences yet again heading into 2017. The Gray Wolves will play a double round-robin slate against Lawrence Tech, and Siena Heights as part of a divided independent group.  The top two teams from the three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schools will advance to the conference tournament against the top two teams among Benedictine at Mesa, Hope International, and UC Merced, which comprise the other half of the independent group.  This year's event will be hosted by Benedictine at Mesa in Chandler, Ariz.

This and That: Ryan Maune and CJ Rilveria are the lone Gray Wolves to appear in all 74 sets this season ... Lourdes is looking to avoid matching its longest losing streak in program history, four (Jan. 30-31, 2015) with a win against Saint Xavier ... the loss to Missouri Baptist was the first time Lourdes had been swept in a match this season.
