Lourdes honored the three members of its senior class on Friday prior to a convincing 25-19, 25-12, 25-9 victory over Saint Xavier at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center to snap a three-match losing skid.

"It was nice to play really well on senior night," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "All three of them performed well in front of their family and friends."

Leading just 12-10 in the opening set, Lourdes scored eight of the next nine points to seize control. Offensively the Gray Wolves tallied 15 kills, its highest output of the day.

In the second set Saint Xavier (5-13) committed 13 attack errors while registering just five kills, swinging at a -.308 rate. Lourdes jumped out to a 15-7 lead on the way to a 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third the Gray Wolves limited the Cougars to just four kills, built a 10-3 lead, and scored the final six points of the match while preventing the guests from reaching double figures on the scoreboard.

Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) led Lourdes with 11 kills and hit .300 while senior
Ryan Ferkel (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly H.S.) handed out 27 assists and had 12 digs for a double-double. Classmate
CJ Rilveria (Kula, Hawaii/Kekaulike H.S.) recorded 10 digs while the third senior,
Zachary Hawkins (Dickinson, Texas/Dickinson H.S.) was involved in four blocks.Â
Brendan Brown (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny H.S.) had a team-high six blocks for the Gray Wolves.

Kevin Mayer led Saint Xavier with six kills as the Cougars hit -.124 for the match.

Lourdes (14-7) will return to the Ebeid Rec Center on Saturday afternoon, hosting Calumet. The opening serve is set for noon.
