Lourdes tallied 24 runs and 28 hits over two games on Sunday as the Gray Wolves swept both ends of a doubleheader from Lawrence Tech 14-8 and 10-1 at Mercy Field.
"We had a much better approach at the plate today and it showed in how well we put innings together," head coach
Jeremy Snow said afterwards. "We did a great job all day of getting runners on base and we got the big hit when we needed it."

Jay Denman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.).
After Lawrence Tech tied it in the second, Lourdes sent 17 batters to the plate in the third, scoring 12 times. The first 10 batters reached safely with
Devin Stanley (Euclid, Ohio/Saint Edward H.S.) and
Dallas Riggs (Prescott, Ariz./Paradise Valley H.S.) each delivering two-run doubles. The Gray Wolves also benefitted from a pair of bases loaded walks in the fame.
The Blue Devils battled back, scoring four runs in the fourth to cut the lead to 13-5. Lourdes tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth via a passed ball, before Lawrence Tech added single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh for the game's final margin.
Glen Crabtree (Medina, Ohio/Black River H.S.) went 6-for-6 in the opener while Riggs and
Zach Brown (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) each had three hits. As a team Lourdes pounded out 19 hits in game one.
"Glen had a great day and Zach really lengthened our lineup," Snow added.
Kolby Rogge (Toledo, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) earned the win (2-2), tossing five innings. He allowed six runs, only two of which were earned, and 11 hits. Matt Baker suffered the loss (1-3), allowing eight runs and nine hits while walking five in two-plus innings.
Lawrence Tech (5-17, 2-10 WHAC) scored first in the nightcap with a single run in the opening inning before Lourdes plated three in the bottom of the frame, taking advantage of a pair of Blue Devil errors.
Run-scoring singles by Denman and
George Pastor (Walled Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Central H.S.) in the second increased the lead to 5-1 and Crabtree added his second home run of the weekend in the third, a solo shot.
Brown chipped in a RBI single in the fifth and after a Pastor sacrifice fly in the sixth, Riggs delivered a two-run double in the sixth to push the lead to nine.
Pastor and Brown both had multi-hit efforts in game two as Lourdes added nine total safeties.
Matt York (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) earned the win (1-3), allowing just one run and six hits in seven innings of work. He struck out three and walked just two. Sean Fannon suffered the loss (1-1), surrendering six runs, four earned, and seven hits in three innings on the hill.
"Our pitching was much better in game two and York was great today," Snow concluded.
Lourdes (6-14, 3-9) will remain home on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Shawnee State in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Mercy Field.
