Madonna completed a three-game sweep of Lourdes on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Gray Wolves 5-2 at Mercy Field.

"This was a disappointing weekend for us," head coach
Jeremy Snow said afterwards. "Not only were the results on the field not what we wanted, but the selfishness of individuals on the team disappointed us. Hopefully we can see a change for next weekend."

Madonna jumped in front with a single run in the fourth inning before Taylor Grzelakowski hit a three-run home run in the fifth to give the Crusaders a 4-0 advantage.

Lourdes plated an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth after
Jonathan Barker (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) reached on a one-out error and scored on the back end of an attempted double steal.

The Crusaders scored an unearned run of their own in the seventh before
Zak Laubscher's (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg H.S.) pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth scored
Devin Stanley (Euclid, Ohio/Saint Edward H.S.) with the Gray Wolves' final run.

Taylor Turner tossed eight innings of six-hit baseball to earn the win (2-2) for Madonna (15-10, 8-3 WHAC), striking out six while allowing just one earned run.Â
Matt York (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the loss (1-4), surrendering three runs and four hits in 4.2 innings on the hill. He walked four and struck out one.

Reilly Walters (Bowmanville, Ont./Bowmanville H.S.) had two of Lourdes' six hits in the contest.

Lourdes (6-17, 3-12) will return to action next Saturday as the Gray Wolves travel to Lima, Ohio to battle 17
th-ranked Northwestern Ohio. Game one of the doubleheader is set for noon at Racer Field.
