Lourdes recorded its first road doubleheader sweep of the season on Saturday as the Gray Wolves took both ends of a doubleheader from Rochester (Mich.) 11-1 and 10-1 at Shinsky Field in Rochester Hills, Mich.
 
Zach Brown (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) tossed a complete game in the opener while Kolby Rogge (Toledo, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) went the distance in game two.  Offensively, the Gray Wolves combined for 27 hits in the two games as well.
 
"Our two starting pitchers did an awesome job today," head coach Jeremy Snow said afterwards.  "For both them to give us compete game efforts was impressive and encouraging for the future, as both pitchers are freshmen.  I was also very pleased with the offensive effort.  We didn't try to do too much and never got satisfied with our lead.  We were very disciplined and kept the pressure on."
 
Lourdes took the lead in the opening inning of game one, scoring three times as Cameron Gallo (Mason, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick H.S.), Glen Crabtree (Medina, Ohio/Black River H.S.), and Devin Stanley (Euclid, Ohio/Saint Edward H.S.) all had RBI singles.
 
The Gray Wolves plated two more runs in the fourth before a Derek Scott (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) RBI single in the sixth increased the lead to 6-0. 
 
After the Warriors scored in the bottom of the sixth, Lourdes batted around in the seventh, scoring five times to end the game early.  Jonathan Barker (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) had a two-run single in the frame.
 
Stanley and Dallas Riggs (Prescott, Ariz./Paradise Valley H.S.) each had three hits in the opener as Lourdes tallied 13 as a team.
 
Brown allowed just three hits to earn the win (1-3), striking out four and walking seven while allowing just the one run.  Daniel Monear took the loss (0-4), surrendering five runs and seven hits in five innings.
 
The Gray Wolves again took an early lead in game two, scoring twice in the first before three more runs crossed the plate in the third as Lourdes sent nine batters to the plate.  A run-scoring double by Gallo in the fourth and a RBI single by Dan Johnson (Westland, Mich./Franklin H.S.) allowed Lourdes to open a 7-0 lead midway through.
 
Rochester scored a single run in the bottom of the sixth, but Lourdes plated another in the eighth on passed ball and added two more in the ninth.
 
Crabtree had three hits in the nightcap while Lourdes banged out 14 safeties in the game.
 
Rogge allowed just one run and seven hits over the nine innings for the win (3-7), striking out three and walking two.  Ty Robinson took the loss (1-4), giving up five runs and seven hits in 2.2 innings of work.
 
Lourdes (10-33, 6-23 WHAC) and Rochester (8-31, 4-23) will close out their three-game weekend series on Sunday afternoon.  The first pitch has been moved up to noon.
