Indiana Wesleyan jumped on top in the eighth minute on Wednesday and Lourdes was unable to respond, as the Wildcats defeated the Gray Wolves 3-0 at the IWU Soccer field in Marion, Ind.
 
"I thought we came out flat tonight," head coach 
Barry Spitzer said after the match.  "We didn't create the opportunities we needed to in order to gain a result."
 
Indiana Wesleyan took the lead at the 7:40 mark of the opening half on a penalty kick goal by Nico Mater following a Lourdes foul in the box.
 
The match remained 1-0 into intermission as the Wildcats managed just a 5-1 shot advantage in the opening 45 minutes.
 
The hosts added to the lead in the 62
nd minute as Glauber Oliveira scored on a counter attack after receiving a cross from Will McComb.  Indiana Wesleyan added a final insurance goal just over five minutes later as Gabe Quesada connected from distance with Carlos Chacon drawing the assist.
 
Indiana Wesleyan (3-3) finished the match with a 19-4 shot advantage, including a 13-0 edge on goal.  
Jose Cedillo (Monterrey, Mexico/Norcross H.S.) finished with nine saves for the Gray Wolves while Lucas Fancello did not need to make a stop in earning the shutout for the Wildcats.
 
Lourdes (1-2-1) will return home to Wildcat Stadium on Sunday afternoon to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule as the Gray Wolves host Andrews.  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
