Lourdes Cruises to 9-0 Win over Andrews

Six different players found the back of the net for Lourdes on Sunday afternoon as the Gray Wolves closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 9-0 victory over Andrews at Wildcat Stadium.

"I thought we moved the ball well and overall did some good things," head coach Barry Spitzer said afterwards.  "Now we need to look to carry this momentum into conference play."

Lourdes jumped in front juts 2:41 into the match as Reece Riccardi (Jupiter, Fla./Suncoast H.S.) sent a ball ahead to Judah Goodridge (Brooklyn, N.Y./Dutchtown H.S.), for the first of his three goals.

Akilla Arno (Omaha, Neb./Northwest Magnet H.S.) had assists on each of the next two goals for the Gray Wolves, feeding Adilson Darosa (Pawtucket, R.I./Shea H.S.) and Ryan O'Hara (West Palm Beach, Fla./Forest Hill H.S.) within three minutes of one another as Lourdes increased the lead to 3-0.

Goodridge added his second goal of the match and Riccardi found the back of the net as well before halftime as Lourdes held a 5-0 lead at the break.

Goodridge completed his hat trick at the 63:45 mark, dribbling the length of the field for the Gray Wolves' sixth goal.  Riccardi scored his second of the match as O'Hara picked up his second assist just over two minutes later.  Haggi Amirally (Kinshasa, Congo/Byron Nelson H.S.) scored with just over five minutes remaining in the match before Risaiah Osborne (Hueytown, Ala./Hueytown H.S.) closed out the scoring on a penalty kick with 2:01 remaining.

Lourdes outshot Andrews 28-6 for the match, including a 19-2 edge on goal.  Jose Cedillo (Monterrey, Mexico/Norcross H.S.) made two saves to record his second shutout of the season for the Gray Wolves.  Bruno Pinelli made four first half saves for Andrews (0-3-1) while Christian Gutierrez made six second half stops.

Lourdes (2-2-1) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon when the Gray Wolves face Rochester (Mich.).  Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. inside of Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich.
