Lourdes opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon, registering its third shutout in its last four matches, as the Gray Wolves defeated Rochester (Mich.) 4-0 inside at Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich.

"I was very proud of the team today," head coach
Barry Spitzer said afterwards. "We stayed very composed and played as a team throughout against a good Rochester team that never gave up."

Ryan O'Hara (West Palm Beach, Fla./Forest Hill H.S.) put Lourdes on the scoreboard just 9:32 into the match, working in combination with
Riley Hogan (Pelham, Ala./Indian Springs H.S.).

Haggi Amirally (Kinshasa, Congo/Byron Nelson H.S.) doubled the lead in the 16
th minutes.Â
Judah Goodridge (Brooklyn, N.Y./Dutchtown H.S.) was on a breakaway down the win and played the ball across the goal area to Amirally, who scored his first of two tallies on the day.

Just 1:06 before halftime,
Adilson Darosa (Pawtucket, R.I./Shea H.S.) connected with
Tyler Rogers (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach H.S.) off a corner kick for Rogers' first goal of the season.

Amirally added his team-leading seventh goal of the year just 4:02 out of intermission, receiving a ball at the far post that was served in by Hogan from near midfield.

The Gray Wolves outshot Rochester 16-11 for the match, including 13-3 in the first 45 minutes as Lourdes took control.Â
Jose Cedillo (Monterrey, Mexico/Norcross H.S.) made seven saves in earning his third shutout of the year, while KJ Jones made eight stops in the loss for Rochester (1-6, 0-1 WHAC).

Lourdes (3-2-1, 1-0) will return to Wildcat Stadium to begin a three-match homestand on Wednesday afternoon against Aquinas. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
