Lourdes had its three-match win streak snapped on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves fell in straight sets to 14
th-ranked Cornerstone 25-19, 25-20, 25-20 inside of Mol Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Golden Eagles held Lourdes' offense to just .023 hitting for the evening, registering 12 blocks for the match.

"Cornerstone is a good team that is playing well right now," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We didn't play well enough to beat them. I thought we had a game play to slow them down, but we couldn't execute offensively."

With the opening set tied at nine, Cornerstone (12-5, 5-0 WHAC) scored six unanswered points to take control and build the early lead. After Lourdes trailed 15-7 in set two, the Gray Wolves battled back to within one, 16-15, but were unable to pull even in the stanza. Two runs of five unanswered points proved too much for Lourdes to overcome in the third set.

Emily Arnold (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) led Lourdes offensively with nine kills, hitting at a .529 clip without committing an error. She also was in on four of the team's five blocks on defense.Â
Sarah Wisser (Schoolcraft, Mich./Schoolcraft H.S.) had a double-double with 15 assists and 12 digs while
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) recorded a team-leading 18 digs on defense.

Jackie Stanko led Cornerstone with 10 kills and five blocks while hitting .318 and Mackenzie Vallad added 21 digs.

Lourdes (9-5, 2-2) will remain on the road Friday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to face Indiana Tech. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of the Schaefer Center.
