Lourdes used a balanced attack on Friday evening to defeat Calumet College of Saint Joseph 25-9, 25-14, 25-10 inside the Rittenmeyer Center in Whiting, Ind.

Fourteen Gray Wolves saw action in the contest as Lourdes hit .371 for the match and tallied 11 service aces while forcing the Crimson Wave to make 20 attack errors while recording just 11 kills and hitting -.141.

With Lourdes leading 11-7 in the opening set, the Gray Wolves closed the stanza on a 14-2 run to take the early advantage in the match. Set two saw Lourdes jump out to a 6-1 lead and score six unanswered points later in the set to push the lead to 2-0. The Gray Wolves scored the first seven points in the third on the way to cruising to the win.

Cierra Martinez (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley H.S.) and
Genessee Tate (West Covina, Calif./West Covina H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with six kills each, with Martinez swinging at a .625 clip.Â
Evynn Eubanks (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia H.S.) handed out 11 assists while
Sarah Wisser (Schoolcraft, Mich./Schoolcraft H.S.) added 10 helpers.Â
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) registered a match-high seven digs defensively.Â
