Lourdes picked up its third consecutive victory on Saturday, continuing its road trip with a 28-26, 25-18, 25-22 victory over Huntington inside of Platt Arena in Huntington, Ind.

"We had to battle to get the win against a team that was playing well," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We were able to take the first set which really helped us relax a bit. I am happy to get out of there with this win."

The opening set saw 12 ties before the Gray Wolves were able to pull out the victory. The Gray Wolves trailed by three, 23-20, before rallying for the win. In the second, Lourdes went on an 11-3 run midway through to build an 18-10 advantage, one it would not relinquish.Â

In the third, Lourdes built a 20-13 lead, only to see the Foresters run off eight straight points to take the lead. The Gray Wolves responded though down the stretch to earn the win.

Kristin Murrell (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) led Lourdes with 17 kills and 10 digs while hitting .351 as the Gray Wolves overcame a .143 hitting day as a team.Â
Jami Markus (Oregon, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) handed out 21 assists, while defensively,
Angelica Dippold (Louisville, Ky./Mercy Academy) and
Tylar Roberson (Elkhart, Ind./Central H.S.) registered 20 and 16 digs respectively.

Josie Beaver led Huntington (9-12) with 10 kills and hit .409 while Kate Cobb had 18 digs.

Lourdes (13-6) will wrap up its road trip on Wednesday evening, returning to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play at Rochester (Mich.). First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Garth Pleasant Arena in Rochester Hills, Mich.
