Lourdes struggled shooting the basketball on Wednesday evening, and suffered a 73-39 loss on the road to Aquinas inside the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Gray Wolves shot just 28.3% from the floor for the game, including 3-of-18 (16.7%) from three point range, and connected on just 55.6% (10-of-18) from the free throw line in the setback. Aquinas, on the other hand, shot 50% from the floor, including better than 55% in the second half.

There were four lead changes and three ties over the first nine minutes of the game before Aquinas went on a 13-2 run to take the lead for good, 25-14. The Saints increased the advantage to 13, 34-21, at halftime.

Lourdes was never able to cut into the deficit in the second half, trailing by 15, 50-35, midway through the stanza before being held scoreless for seven minutes while Aquinas scored 14 unanswered points to begin a 21-2 run, putting the game out of reach.

Kadeim Jones (Dayton, Ohio/Marshall H.S.), the only Gray Wolf in double figures, led the way offensively with 11 points while
Xavier Cheek (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor H.S.) added seven points.

Arsenio Arrington led Aquinas (12-10, 8-4 WHAC) with a double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Deric Murray added 15 points as the Saints outscored the Gray Wolves 48-18 in the paint and held a 44-28 rebounding advantage.

Lourdes (10-11, 3-9) will have a week off before returning to Grand Rapids next Wednesday to battle top-ranked Cornerstone. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. inside Mol Arena.
