Lourdes trailed 22
nd-ranked Lawrence Tech by just four at halftime on Saturday afternoon, but the Blue Devils shot 71% from the floor in the third quarter on the way to defeating the Gray Wolves 79-64 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"We played much better team defense today," head coach
Summer Quesenberry said afterwards. "We competed against a good Lawrence Tech team. Our biggest feat was overcoming the many wasted offensive possessions we had. We didn't value the ball which ultimately led to 20 turnovers and 15 points for the other team, the difference in the point margin of the game."

Lourdes trailed for just 15 seconds in the opening quarter, forcing five Blue Devil turnovers while taking a 17-16 advantage into the second period. Lawrence Tech took the lead on the opening possession of the period and gradually increased the lead to eight, 28-20, before Lourdes was able to close to within four, 32-28, at the break.

The Gray Wolves used a 7-0 run midway through the third quarter to take a 45-44 lead, its final advantage of the game, before Lawrence Tech closed the period on a 10-3 run, giving the guests a nine-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

A layup by
LaTyrah Beasley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher H.S.) at the 6:47 mark pulled Lourdes to within six, 64-58, but that would be as close as the Gray Wolves would get the rest of the way. An 11-3 run by the Blue Devils followed to secure the win.

Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake H.S.) led Lourdes with 16 points while Beasley and
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) added 14 points each. Lourdes finished the game shooting 45.3% from the floor, including 8-of-15 (53.3%) from three-point range.

Teryn Kline paced Lawrence Tech (14-4, 7-3 WHAC) with 20 points off the bench while Nicole Buckingham added nine points and nine rebounds.

Lourdes (7-9, 2-7) heads out onto the road on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves travel to Adrian, Mich. to face Siena Heights. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. inside the SHU Fieldhouse.
