Lourdes led wire-to-wire on Tuesday afternoon, opening the 2018-2019 season with an 87-64 victory over Grace Christian inside of the Aldrich Athletic Center in Wyoming, Mich.

"The team played a great game," Kenger stated afterwards. "We pushed the ball well and did a great job of finding the open shooter. We have some work to do on the defensive end, but we will get there. I'm very proud of this team."

Lourdes jumped in front quickly, scoring the game's first seven points in less than two minutes and never looked back. The Gray Wolves built a 37-28 lead by halftime and broke the game open early in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 28-12 in the period.

Jami Hardy (Perrysburg, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) opened the season with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds while
Christiana Jefferson (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) tallied a team-high 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting and handed out six assists.Â
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) and
Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake H.S.) also scored in double figures for the Gray Wolves, scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Gray Wolves shot 49.3% from the floor and were a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. Lourdes handed out 24 assists while committing just 15 turnovers.

Miranda Carlson led Grace Christian (0-1) with 16 points while Maggie Long added 12 points and grabbed eight boards.

The Tigers shot just 34.7% from the field and committed 19 turnovers.

Lourdes (1-0) continues its season-opening three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Goshen, Ind. to face Goshen. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside of Gunden Gymnasium.
