The Lourdes men's basketball team dropped its second straight contest at the hands of Rochester (Mich.) on Tuesday evening as the Warriors pulled away late and defeated Lourdes 82-76 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"We played hard tonight but just didn't make enough plays when we needed to," said head coach Josh Gibson. "The margin of error in conference play is very slim and we have to be able to make some plays. Rochester is a veteran team and it showed down the stretch."

Lourdes found itself behind early as Rochester (4-4, 1-2 WHAC) grabbed a 6-4 lead with 16:50 left in the first half. The Gray Wolves were able to respond, as Kadeim Jones (Dayton, Ohio/Marshall) went on a personal 8-0 run, including two three-point buckets to give Lourdes a 12-6 lead.

After three lead changes and a layup from Deuce Martin (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview) the Gray Wolves stretched their lead to as many 25-20 following a fastbreak dunk from Jones with 6:03 left in the half.

Lourdes fell behind 31-27, but a layup from Jones and a jumper from Brett Lauf (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) with seven seconds left in the half locked the score at 31-all heading into the break.

In the second half, a Bryce McComb (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton) three-pointer pulled Lourdes within 49-47 with 12:17 left in the contest. From there, the Warriors would use a quick 6-0 run to force a timeout and take a 55-47 lead with 10:14 remaining.

Lourdes would then go on an 11-3 run fueled by back-to-back three-pointers from McComb to knot the game at 58-58.

The Gray Wolves would cut into the lead, but Rochester finished 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the final 37 seconds to seal the victory.

Rochester had four athletes in double-figures, led by Justin Nafso's 22 points. Armand Cartwright added 20 points for Rochester.

Jones led the way for the Gray Wolf offense, scoring a career-high 28 points. McComb added 14 points and Snow added his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Lourdes finished 31-of-73 (42.5%) from the field, including 12-of-34 (35.3%) from three-point range. Rochester was 28-of-64 (43.8%) from the field and 11-of-31 (35.5%) from three-point range.

The Warriors won the battle on the boards by a 47-35 margin.

The Gray Wolves (5-3, 0-2) return to action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Great Lakes Christian to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
