Lourdes led from start to finish on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves cruised past Great Lakes Christian 86-43 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Twelve different Gray Wolves found the scoring column and the Lourdes defense limited the Crusaders to just 21.1% shooting from the floor on the way to returning to the .500 mark on the season.

"This was a bit of a scattered game," head coach John Kenger said afterwards.  "We were able to get the win and rotated a lot of players in the game."

Lourdes started the game quickly, making its first four shots from the field while building a 9-0 lead.  Great Lakes Christian connected on just two of their first 17 attempts from the field, and fell behind 19-6 after one period.

The Gray Wolves scored the first 11 points of the second to extend its run to 15-0 while pushing the lead to 30-6 at the 7:43 mark.  Lourdes would maintain the margin the remainder of the half and head into the locker room with a 43-19 advantage.

Ra'Zhane Newberry (Cleveland, Ohio/Euclid H.S.) scored the first eight points of the second half for the Gray Wolves to push the lead to 32 while Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) drained a pair of threes to close the third quarter as the lead swelled to 40.

Lourdes would go on one final 9-0 run late in the final stanza to build the game's final margin.

Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake H.S.) led Lourdes with 19 points while Newberry and LaTyrah Beasley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher H.S.) added 12 points each.  Riley Raburn (Horton, Mich./Lumen Christi H.S.) added 11 points off the bench.

The Gray Wolves held a 56-31 rebounding advantage, led by eight boards from both Newberry and Keyvona Davis (Columbus, Ohio/South H.S.), and held a 25-2 edge in second chance points.

Mystic Striker led an undermanned Great Lakes Christian (0-6) squad, which had just five players, with 14 points and nine rebounds.

"We have to sharpen some things up to get ready for Indiana Tech now," Kenger added.

Lourdes (4-4) will return to the hardwood against Indiana Tech on Wednesday evening.  Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
