After downing East-West in Wednesday's season opener, Lourdes earned the same result against on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Phantoms 76-72 at the Bernie Holowicki Classic held inside The Activities Center in Livonia, Mich.

Brett Lauf (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with 19 points, making 8-of-8 from the free throw line, while
Bryce McComb (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.) came off the bench to add 17 points, making 6-of-8 from the floor, including three three-pointers.Â
Deuce Martin (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview H.S.) chipped in 11 points for the Gray Wolves while
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Lourdes jumped out quickly, building a 16-4 lead in the game's first six minutes, and led by as many as 15, 23-8, with just under 12 minutes remaining before halftime. East-West responded with 10 unanswered points to close within five, and eventually tied the game at 26 with 6:07 left before the break. The Gray Wolves never allowed the Phantoms to take the lead though, and took a 38-32 lead into the locker room.

A McComb triple with 13:41 to play put Lourdes in front 46-36 but East-West again rallied. Nine straight points made it a one-point game, 46-45, and the Phantoms eventually took their first lead, 61-60, with 3:33 left in the game. With the contest tied at 66, Snow knocked down a jumper with 1:14 to play to put the Gray Wolves in front for good. Lauf and Snow each made four free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure the win.

Lourdes shot 43.5% from the floor for the game and committed 14 turnovers while outrebounding the Phantoms 38-27. The Gray Wolves were 29-of-32 (90.6%) from the free throw line, including a perfect 16-for-16 in the second half. East-West (0-6) connected at a 43.5% clip from the floor and made just nine miscues.

Sherman Carter, Isaiah Grace, and Naija Chandler all paced the Phantoms with 12 points each.

Lourdes (2-1) returns home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Tuesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Wright State-Lake. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
