Lourdes began the dual meet portion of its 2018-2019 season on Thursday evening, falling 43-6 to NCAA Division II No. 13 Ashland inside of Kates Gymnasium in Ashland, Ohio.

Dock Kelly III said afterwards. "We knew coming in that this would be a very hostile environment. Although the overall team score does not reflect it, we had a couple of closely contested matches."

Noah Nuno (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga H.S.) was credited with the Gray Wolves' lone victory of the night, winning via forfeit in the 197-pound weight class.

Tyler Sarreshteh (Findlay, Ohio/Liberty-Benton H.S.) battled at 141 pounds before dropping a 4-0 decision.Â
Noah Clary (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky H.S.) had a close match at 174 pounds before falling in a 6-1 decision.

Carson Speelman of Ashland (5-0) recorded the lone fall of the day, earning his victory at 149 pounds for the Eagles.

"We will take a couple of days off to recover, and then we will train hard for next weekend's competition," Kelly added.

Lourdes (0-1) returns to the mat on Saturday, Nov. 17, when the Gray Wolves travel to Berea, Ohio for the Baldwin Wallace Open. The opening bout is set for 10 a.m. inside of Urspring Gymnasium.
