Lourdes wrapped up play at the Campbellsville Invitational on Saturday, sweeping Judson 25-16, 26-24, 25-23 inside of Gosser Gymnasium in Campbellsville, Ky. for the Gray Wolves' seventh straight win.

"Once again we were forced to play hard to come away with the win and fortunately we were able to do just that," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the contest. "We had some strong performances that were able to carry us."

Lourdes, ranked ninth nationally, hit a sizzling .600 in the opening set, putting down 17 kills on just 25 swings. The Gray Wolves never trailed, as four straight points opened up a 9-4 advantage. Another 5-0 run late in the set turned a five-point lead into a 24-14 advantage.

The Gray Wolves had 19 kills in the second set, but had to battle from behind. Trailing by as many as four, 20-16, Lourdes was able to pull even at 23 and eventually took advantage of back-to-back errors by the Eagles to earn the 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set was again a come-from-behind effort for Lourdes, which trailed 16-11. A 7-1 run by the Gray Wolves put Lourdes in front, and despite nine ties in the set, the Gray Wolves hung on to earn the sweep in the final contest of a nine-match road trip.

Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alberto Giovannini H.S.) led Lourdes with 18 kills and hit .483 while
Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) added 16 kills.Â
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco) handed out 45 assists and tallied 10 digs for a double-double.

Lourdes hit .269 for the match and held a 43-29 advantage in digs, while holding the Eagles to a .218 offensive clip.

Manny Andrade led Judson (1-12) with 18 kills and 13 digs.

Lourdes (9-4) returns home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center for five straight matches, beginning on Wednesday evening when the Gray Wolves entertain Lawrence Tech. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m.
