Lourdes began its final road trip of the 2017-2018 season on Saturday, suffering an 81-59 loss to 19
th-ranked Lawrence Tech inside of Ridler Field House in Southfield, Mich.

The opening 10 minutes were close throughout, with neither team leading by more than three points as the two schools entered the second quarter tied at 12. With the game tied at 15 early in the second period, the Blue Devils score 13 consecutive points in a six minute span to build a double digit lead, and maintained that advantage into halftime, 33-21.

The Gray Wolves scored the first two baskets out of the locker room to close to within seven, before a 7-1 spurt by Lawrence Tech pushed the lead back to 13 with four minutes remaining in the quarter.

Leading by 12 entering the fourth, Lawrence Tech shot 90% (9-for-10) from the floor and 84.6% (11-for-13) from the free throw line in the final period, scoring 33 points to secure the victory. A 7-0 run in less than two minutes midway through the stanza allowed the Blue Devils to extend their lead to 20 on the way to the victory.

Tiera Thomas (Detroit, Mich./Henry Ford H.S.) scored a team-high 15 points while
Tatyana Reynolds (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) added 14 more for the Gray Wolves. Lourdes shot just 30.4% from the floor as a team, but did take care of the basketball, committing just 12 turnovers.

Nicole Buckingham led Lawrence Tech (23-4, 15-3 WHAC) with 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Hayley Walkowski added 18 points and 11 rebounds. The Blue Devils finished the game shooting 50% from the floor to offset 21 turnovers. Lawrence Tech finished with a 51-27 rebounding edge as well.

Lourdes (9-17, 3-15) will close out the road portion of the schedule on Wednesday evening, traveling to Lima, Ohio to battle the University of Northwestern Ohio. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. inside Racer Gymnasium.
