Beasley Scores 45, Jefferson Tallies Triple-Double as Lourdes Posts Record-Setting Win

LaTyrah Beasley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher H.S.) matched a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference record with 45 points and Christiana Jefferson (Toledo, Ohio/Ursuline H.S.) notched a triple-double as Lourdes cruised to a record-setting 107-77 victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday evening inside of Racer Gymnasium in Lima, Ohio.

"I am so proud of our team's effort tonight," head coach Summer Quesenberry said after the game.  "We crashed the boards pulling down 52 while limiting UNOH to just 30."

Beasley made 19-of-24 shots from the floor and 7-of-8 from the free throw line to match Brooke Adams' from Concordia (Mich.) conference mark set on Jan. 15, 2014 against Michigan-Dearborn.  Beasley also recorded a double-double on the evening, grabbing a game-high 18 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end of the floor.

Jefferson scored 12 points, handed out 13 assists while committing just one turnover on the night, and grabbed 15 boards in her triple-double effort, the first ever by a Gray Wolf in program history.

"CJ getting a triple-double and Tyrah scoring 45 are huge milestones for our program," Quesenberry added.

Lourdes took control of the game from the opening tip, scoring the game's first 14 points, holding the Racers scoreless until the 5:27 mark of the opening quarter.  The Gray Wolves led 30-11 after 10 minutes and 53-33 at the half, shooting better than 58% from the field heading into the locker room.

The Gray Wolves never trailed in the contest, with Beasley's free throw with 43 seconds remaining matching the record.

Tatyana Reynolds (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) scored 13 points to give Lourdes three players in double figures, with all of her points coming in the opening half.

Lourdes set a new school mark for points in a game with the 107, reaching the century mark for the first time in program history.  The Gray Wolves also set a new school mark for victories in a season with their 10th triumph of the year.

"I'm so proud of this group for becoming the winningest team in Lourdes history," Quesenberry added.  "This team has overcome so much adversity this season and tonight this team earned a sweet Valentine's Day victory."

Emily Patton led Northwestern Ohio (7-21, 3-16 WHAC) with 20 points while Kierra Billingsley added 18 more for the Racers.

Lourdes (10-17, 4-15) will close out the 2017-2018 season on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves host Rochester (Mich.) for Senior Day.  Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
