Tenth-ranked Lourdes finished up play in its own Gray Wolf Invitational on Saturday, posting three-set sweeps against both Webber International and ninth-ranked Clarke inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Gray Wolves defeated Webber International 25-21, 25-15, 25-17 before downing the Pride 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Lourdes offense was solid in the opener, with the Gray Wolves hitting .358 for the match with 14 kills in each set.Â
Ricardo Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) hit .500 with a team-high nine kills while
Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) added eight kills.Â
Matt Mittry (Tustin, Calif./Calvary Chapel H.S.) had seven kills on nine swings while
Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alberto Giovannini H.S.) added seven kills each.

"Our offense had a great deal of balance to it," head coach
Greg Reitz said of the opening win. "Matt and Fred (Miller) were solid in the middle and we were efficient everywhere. We made a few defensive plays we needed to prolong some key points."

Lourdes trailed by as many as four in the opening set before making a run to forge in front 17-14, and never fell behind again. In the second, six straight points off the serve of
Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) allowed Lourdes to build a 13-7 lead, starting an 11- run. The Gray Wolves never trailed in the third, utilizing a late 8-3 spurt to pull away.

Ubior tallied a match-high nine digs for the Gray Wolves while
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) registered five blocks.

Chris Ludwig and Liam Gilchrist led Webber International (2-5) with six kills each while Jack Chernak had five blocks.

Lourdes hit. 333 in the second match against Clarke with Andrade and Gebert both putting down a team-high 11 kills. Gebert hit .450 while Andrade swung at a .300 clip.Â
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) handed out 25 assists while
Ian Fields (Phoenix Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) dished out 15 more.

"We got strong performances from five different attackers giving us a diverse offense," Reitz said of the finale. "We distributed the ball efficiently, played strategic defense, and executed the game plan."

Lourdes pulled away late in a tight opening set. After leading 18-17, the Gray Wolves scored seven of the final 10 points for to take the lead in the match. Set two had 16 ties and six lead changes, with the Gray Wolves hitting .469 and Clarke swinging at a .303 clip. Lourdes had 20 kills in the set, and again needed a late spurt after trailing 19-18. Trailing 14-11 in the third, Lourdes went on a 7-1 run to take control and secure the Gray Wolves' 11
th victory in the last 12 matches.

Ubior had nine digs in the win as the Gray Wolves posted a 34-20 statistical edge in that category.

Dan Tynski led Clarke (11-9) with 10 kills while Joshua Phalen had 12 digs.

Lourdes (13-5) will close out its six-match homestand on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Siena Heights. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
