Lourdes remained undefeated in 21 meetings against Siena Heights on Wednesday evening, rallying from a set down to defeat the Saints 14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"We didn't start off well and they took advantage of all of our errors," head coach
Greg Reitz said following the match. "We battled back and got some rhythm in the second set and carried that into the later sets. We played some really solid defense tonight."

Both setters,
Ian Fields (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) and
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco) posted double-doubles, as did
Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alberto Giovannini H.S.). The Gray Wolves finished with a 65-51 dig advantage and registered nine blocks as a team.

Siena Heights never trailed in the opening set, forcing 11 Gray Wolf attack errors. An 11-3 run allowed the Saints to open up an 18-8 advantage on the way to taking the lead in the match. In the second, Lourdes built a 16-10 lead and still was in front by six, 22-16, before the Saints rallied. The guests scored six of the next seven points to tie the set at 23 before a kill from
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) and an attack error allowed the Gray Wolves to even the match.

Lourdes, ranked 10
th in the latest NAIA poll, raced out to a 13-5 lead in the third and withstood a late 7-2 Siena Heights run to take the lead in the match. In the fourth, Lourdes limited the Saints to just .091 hitting while putting up its best showing of the night at .278. With the set tied at 16, Lourdes scored the next two points and slowly pulled away to secure the victory.

Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) led Lourdes with 17 kills while Andrade added 12 kills and 13 digs. Fields handed out 29 assists and posted 11 digs while Gehrke added 19 helpers and 14 digs.Â
Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) also had 13 digs while
Matt Mittry (Tustin, Calif./Calvary Chapel H.S.) added five blocks and hit .500 with nine kills.

Kyle Browne led Siena Heights (9-4) with 15 kills and 16 digs while Tyler Hubbard-Neil added 12 kills.

Lourdes (14-5) heads out on the road beginning Monday evening, as the Gray Wolves travel to Davenport, Iowa to battle Saint Ambrose. The opening serve is set for 8 p.m. EST inside Lee Lohman Arena.
