Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Having won seven regular season matches in a row, and 15 of its last 16, Lourdes returns home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Friday afternoon to entertain Cincinnati Christian. The Gray Wolves play two of their final three regular season matches at home.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his seventh season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball,
Greg Reitz has a 130-56 (.699) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. He has earned five conference Coach of the Year honors during his first six seasons at Lourdes. He is the only head coach in program history.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 7-0 all-time against Cincinnati Christian in a series that dates back to Jan. 17, 2014. The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this year in four sets on Feb. 8 in Cincinnati, in a match that marked the first set victory ever for the Eagles against Lourdes. This is Cincinnati Christian's first appearance at the Ebeid Rec Center, but Lourdes went 2-0 against the Eagles in Tam-o-Shanter.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes posted a four-set victory on the road over fourth-ranked Saint Ambrose on Monday evening 25-19, 17-25, 25-22, 28-26.Â

Brendan Brown, and
Evan Gebert led the way with 10 kills each. On Wednesday night, the Gray Wolves knocked off top-ranked Grand View 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20 on the road.Â
Matheus Andrade had a team-high 14 kills for Lourdes. The Gray Wolves swept Graceland Thursday afternoon 25-20, 25-16, 25-18 behind 13 kills from Gebert. Lourdes closed the week on Friday night with a 25-15, 25-23, 25-11 win at Goshen in an exhibition match.Â

Ricardo Gehrke, and Lam each had eight kills in the win.
Scouting Cincinnati Christian: The Eagles snapped a three-match losing skid on Monday night with a three-set victory at home against Webber International. Logan Webber leads the team with 311 kills and is hitting .257 while also leading the team with 22 service aces. Michael Hiroskey has handed out 623 assists. Defensively, Shaun Kanoho has a team-high 169 digs while Kyle Wellman has been involved in a team-best 36 blocks, including seven solos. As a team Cincinnati Christian is hitting .257.
Downing the Best: Lourdes entered last week having never defeated a team ranked higher than fifth in the NAIA top-10 poll. The Gray Wolves bettered that twice within three nights, first downing fourth-ranked Saint Ambrose on Monday before defeating top-ranked Grand View on Wednesday evening. Lourdes is 5-1 this season against nationally-ranked foes, with the lone loss coming in the third match of the season to third-ranked Missouri Baptist. The Gray Wolves are now 20-46 all-time against top-10 opponents, and have won five straight matches.
Brown Earns National Honors: Brendan Brown was named the NAIA National Attacker of the Week after hitting .636 in the three regular season victories. The redshirt-junior averaged 2.27 kills per set, amassing 25 total, while adding nine blocks (0.82/set). Brown previously had earned NAIA National Defender of the Week honors on Feb. 27.
Quite a Hitting Night: Lourdes .421 as a team against number one Grand View on Wednesday evening, and needed to hit that well as the Vikings swung at a .398 clip that night.Â
Matt Mittry hit .727 with eight kills while
Brendan Brown swung at a .692 rate with 10 kills.
The First Time: Lourdes was outhit by Saint Ambrose .236-.198 last Monday, marking the first time this season the Gray Wolves won a match in which they hit a lower percentage than their opponents. Lourdes is a perfect 16-0 this year when outhitting the opposition.
Milestones: Brendan Brown surpassed the 400-kill mark (402) and reached 200 career blocks in the victory over Graceland on Thursday afternoon. Â
Winning the Service Game: Lourdes has tallied 83 services aces on the season (1.02/set) while committing 174 service errors. The Gray Wolves' opponents, on the other hand, have 78 aces (0.96/set), but have misfired 225 times. Lourdes has a 56-point advantage in the service game.
Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks second among all NAIA men's volleyball programs registering 11.59 digs per set this season. The Gray Wolves are also tallying 12.10 assists per set, a mark that ranks third nationally, while the team's 12.68 kills per stanza rank sixth nationally. Lourdes is 12th in hitting percentage at .251 while their 1.87 blocks per set are 16th best nationally.
Individual Leaders: Eric Ubior ranks fifth in NAIA men's volleyball recording 3.10 digs per set on the year.Â
Brendan Brown's 1.02 blocks per set rank him eighth nationally while
Matt Mittry's .400 hitting percentage is also eighth best in the country.Â
Evan Gebert ranks 10th in the NAIA with his 3.72 kills per set.
This and That: Evan Gebert and
Eric Ubior are the only Gray Wolves to appear in all 81 sets in 2018 ... the Gray Wolves are 11-1 this season away from the Ebeid Rec Center but just 6-4 in home matches ... Gebert surpassed the 300-kill mark for the season against Graceland.
