Lourdes won its eighth straight match for the second time this season, and 16
th in its last 17 outings on Friday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves defeated Cincinnati Christian 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

"It was good to continue our winning ways, especially coming home after a long road trip," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We took care of business by serving aggressively throughout the match."

Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alberto Giovannini H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with 12 kills and hit .450 for the match while
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) and
Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) added seven kills each. Gebert also had six of Lourdes' nine service aces in the contest.

Lourdes raced out to a 9-0 lead in the opening set and never looked back, committing just four attack errors in the stanza. The Gray Wolves limited Cincinnati Christian to .037 hitting in set one.

In the second set, the Gray Wolves took an early 7-1 lead, only to see the Eagles battle back to forge in front for the first time on the afternoon, 21-20. The Gray Wolves responded scoring the next four points on the way to building a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Gray Wolves scored the first eight points of set three, three on Gebert's aces. Lourdes put down 16 kills in the set while hitting .481 on the way to completing the sweep.

Lourdes hit .318 for the match, with
Ian Fields (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) handing out 16 assists and
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil Escola Barao Do Rio Branco) adding 12 more. Defensively,
Eric Ubior (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) posted a match-high 13 digs.

Logan Webber led Cincinnati Christian (12-11) with 14 kills and hit .312 while Shaun Kanoho tallied 11 digs for the Eagles.

Lourdes (18-5) takes to the road on Wednesday evening, traveling to Adrian, Mich. to battle Siena Heights. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of the SHU Fieldhouse.
