Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes closes out the regular season this week with a pair of contests.  The Gray Wolves go on the road for the final time Wednesday night, heading north to Siena Heights before hosting Judson on Saturday afternoon for a Senior Day match.

On the Air: Saturday's match against Judson will be broadcast live on BCSN as part of Buckeye Broadband.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his seventh season both on the Lourdes bench, and overall coaching men's volleyball, Greg Reitz has a 131-56 (.701) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  He has earned five conference Coach of the Year honors during his first six seasons at Lourdes.  He is the only head coach in program history.

Series Notes: Lourdes is 21-0 all-time against Siena Heights in a series that began Feb. 14, 2012.  The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this season against the Saints in four sets on Feb. 28 at the Ebeid Rec Center.  Lourdes is 8-0 all-time in Adrian, Mich. against Siena Heights.  Lourdes won the only previous meeting in program history against Judson earlier this season on Feb. 10 as part of the Campbellsville Invitational.  The Gray Wolves were straight sets winners over the Eagles in the neutral site contest in Campbellsville, Ky.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes won its eighth consecutive regular season match on Friday afternoon, sweeping Cincinnati Christian 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 inside the Ebeid Rec Center.  Matheus Andrade had 12 kills and hit .450 while Eric Ubior tallied 13 digs in the victory.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints had their seven-match winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon with a four-set loss to Ottawa (Kan.) in the final match of the Siena Heights Invitational.  Tyler Hubbard-Neil leads Siena Heights with 231 kills and 37 service aces on the season while Kyle Brown is hitting .282.  Keegan Crawford has handed out 590 assists.  Defensively, Jack Pranckus has tallied a team-leading 175 digs while Hubbard-Neil has been involved in a team-high 42 blocks.

Scouting Judson: The Eagles enter the week having dropped seven straight matches after falling to both Lawrence Tech and Campbellsville in four sets last Saturday.  Judson hosts Trinity Christian and Mount Mercy before heading to Lourdes.  Manny Andrade leads the team with 336 kills, is hitting .170, and has 22 service aces while Ryan VanThyne has handed out 624 assists.  Jake Lafata has a team-high 231 digs while Brian Robinson has 71 blocks, including 23 solos.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the three members of the 2018 senior class on Saturday prior to the season finale against Judson.  Ryan Maune, Jaryn Kuhaulua-Feiteira and Eric Ubior will all be participating in their final regular season match of their careers that afternoon.

Looking to Host the Postseason Event: With a win at Siena Heights on Wednesday, the Gray Wolves would earn the right to host the Independent Group tournament April 6-7.  The Gray Wolves and Saints have already earned bids to the tournament through the WHAC, with the top-seeded team hosting the event.  From the Cal Pac/Golden State Conferences, Benedictine-Mesa and Hope International will also be participating in the event.

Swinging Well: Lourdes hit .318 as a team on Friday afternoon in the victory over Cincinnati Christian, the eighth time this season the Gray Wolves have swung at a .300 clip or better.  Over the first 13 matches of the season, Lourdes hit .300 just once, but has accomplished the feat seven times in the last 10 contests.

Quite the Winning Streak: Lourdes has won eight consecutive regular season matches for the second time this season entering play on Wednesday.  The Gray Wolves won eight straight from January 27 through February 14 and then began this current streak on February 23, with just one loss in between.

Adjusting to the Libero Role: Eric Ubior has settled into the libero role this season after spending his first three seasons as an outside hitter.  He entered the year with 380 career digs in three years, and has already posted 264 (3.14/set) this year, while playing the position in all but one set.  His dig total ranks fifth in all of NAIA.

Coming on After a Starting Slow: Matheus Andrade recorded just 13 total kills for Lourdes in his first six matches as a Gray Wolf before putting down 18 kills against Robert Morris (Ill.) on Jan. 27.  That effort spearheaded an offensive prowess for Andrade, who has 10 double figure kill matches in his last 16 contests.  For the year he is hitting .252 averaging 2.69 kills per set.

Among the Nation's Leaders: Lourdes ranks second among all NAIA men's volleyball programs registering 11.64 digs per set this season.  The Gray Wolves are also tallying 12.08 assists per set, a mark that ranks third nationally, while the team's 12.73 kills per stanza rank sixth nationally.  Lourdes is 12th in hitting percentage at .254 while their 1.83 blocks per set are 18th best nationally.

Individual Leaders: Eric Ubior ranks fifth in NAIA men's volleyball recording 3.14 digs per set on the year.  Matt Mittry is sixth in hitting percentage, swinging at a .408 clip, while Evan Gebert's 3.67 kills per set are 11th best nationally.  Brendan Brown is also 11th in the country in blocks per set at 1.00 while ranking 16th with a .335 hitting percentage.

This and That: Evan Gebert and Eric Ubior are the only Gray Wolves to appear in all 84 sets in 2018 ... Lourdes has not dropped a five-set match since Feb. 17, 2017 against Warner ...the Gray Wolves are surrendering less than one ace per set (0.98) to their opponents.
