Playing its third match in four days in the state of Iowa, eighth-ranked Lourdes downed Graceland 25-20, 25-16, 25-18 on Thursday afternoon inside of the Closon Center in Lamoni, Iowa.

"This was a good win for us," head coach
Greg Reitz said following the game. "We started a little slow getting used to the gym for serving and passing, but we were able to find our rhythm. Our team continued to improve as the match went on."

Coming off a victory over top-ranked Grand View just 20 hours earlier, he Gray Wolves started slowly in the opening set. Lourdes trailed 17-15 before closing the set on a 10-3 run to take the early lead in the match.

The Gray Wolves never trailed in the second set. With the stanza tied at 12, Lourdes scored the next three points to jumpstart a 10-3 run, pulling away to increase the lead to 2-0.

Again in the third Lourdes lead from start to finish. The Gray Wolves gradually increased their lead throughout the set to complete the sweep.

Lourdes hit .301 for the match, led by
Evan Gebert's (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) 13 kills and .435 hitting percentage. Gebert also had nine digs, one behind match-leader
Eric Ubior's (Guaynabo, P.R./Wesleyan Academy) 10 digs.Â
Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alerto Giovannini H.S.) added eight kills.Â
Ian Fields (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor H.S.) handed out 17 assists while
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) added 13 more.

Jerminae Solomua led Graceland (0-20) with nine kills while Jonah Poe had nine digs. The Yellow Jackets hit .167 for the match.

Lourdes (17-5) will conclude its road trip on Friday evening, traveling to Goshen, Ind. for an exhibition match against Goshen. The opening serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Gunden Gymnasium.
