Lourdes continued play at the Warner Invitational on Friday, shutting out Thomas 8-0 in the morning before dropping a 6-3 contest to Saint Francis (Ill.) in the afternoon at Lake Wales High School in Lake Wales, Fla.
"I was proud of our pitching today after a tough day yesterday," head coach
Jeremy Snow said. "The offense continued to hit, but our defense let us down in game two."

Matt York (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) tossed a complete game five-hitter for the shutout victory (2-0), striking out nine while allowing just two walks.

Cameron Gallo (Mason, Ohio/Bishop Fenwick H.S.) put Lourdes in front in the opening inning with a RBI single. The Gray Wolves doubled their lead in the third as
Glen Crabtree (Medina, Ohio/Black River H.S.) drove home a run with a fielder's choice.

Crabtree drove home two more runs as part of a five-run fourth, three of which were unearned, before
Devin Stanley's (Euclid, Ohio/Saint Edward H.S.) sacrifice fly in the fifth closed out the scoring.

Dallas Riggs (Prescott, Ariz./Bradshaw Mountain H.S.) went 4-for-4 to lead Lourdes' 13-hit attack while
Jay Denman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.), Crabtree, and
Dan Johnson (Westland, Mich./Franklin H.S.) had two hits each.

Logan Hollyman suffered the loss (1-1) for Thomas (11-14), allowing six runs, four earned, and nine hits in 3.2 innings pitched.Â

Lourdes scored first against Saint Francis, as Denman hit the second pitch of the game over the fence for his fourth home run of the season.

The Saints took the lead in the second with four runs, two of which were unearned following a two-out error.

Crabtree hit a two-run homer in the fifth to pull the Gray Wolves within one, but Saint Francis added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth to secure the win.

Stanley had the only multi-hit game for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes had seven hits in the contest.Â

Angel Sandoval earned the win (2-2) for Saint Francis (5-10), allowing three runs, two earned, and seven hits in six innings.Â
Zach Brown (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) suffered the loss (2-2), giving up five runs, three of which were earned, and seven hits in five innings.

Lourdes (8-7) will close out play in the Warner Invitational on Saturday against a yet to be determined opponent.
