Lourdes picked up its school-record 17
th victory of the season on Friday, winning a suspended game against Concordia (Mich.) 12-9 in 11 innings before dropping a 9-2 non-conference game to the Cardinals at Cardinal Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The victory allowed the Gray Wolves to surpass the 2013 team which finished the year 16-27-1.

Tied at eight when the day began heading into the 10
th inning, neither team scored in the first frame of the day. Lourdes capitalized on three Concordia errors in the 11
th though, scoring four times to take the lead.Â
George Pastor (Walled Lake, Mich./Central H.S.) singled home two, putting the Gray Wolves in front, before
Dallas Riggs (Prescott, Ariz./Bradshaw Mountain H.S.) reached on a two-out error plating two more.

Concordia scored one in the bottom of the 11
th, but
Braxton McKart (Monroe, Mich./Monroe H.S.) got the final outs on his way to the win (3-0) on the hill in the important Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game. Jacob Clark, who pitched the final 7.2 innings over the two days, suffered the loss (2-1) for the Cardinals.

Denman led the Lourdes offense with three of the Gray Wolves' 13 hits in the contest.

Playing a seven-inning non-conference game afterwards, Lourdes struck first on a Pastor home run.

The Cardinals responded, scoring in four of the next five innings. Concordia tied the game on a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first and took the lead with another solo shot in the second. A five-run fifth inning broke the game open, as the Cardinals batted around.

Christian White (Tipp City, Ohio/Bethel H.S.) collected his first collegiate hit, a RBI double in the seventh, to complete the Lourdes scoring.

Pastor had the only multi-hit game for Lourdes in game two, tallying two of the team's six hits.

Gregory Barbuto earned the win (2-0), tossing six innings for Concordia (25-12, 11-8 WHAC), allowing one run on five hits.Â
Jeremy Zsolcsak (Brownstown, Mich./Roosevelt H.S.) suffered the loss (0-2), allowing four runs and six hits in 2.2 innings of work.

Lourdes (17-20, 8-14) returns home to Mercy Field on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves begin a weekend series against Aquinas. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is set for noon.
