Nitram Senderos (Cartersville, Ga./Cartersville/Carl Sandburg) tallied his second goal in as many games to lead the Lourdes men's soccer team as it fell 3-1 at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars (5-2-1) scored early on in the contest as junior Connor Davis found the back of the net in the 13
th minute to put MVNU up 1-0 early in the first half.
Senderos would even the score at 1-1 in the 25
th minute, beating his defender on the left side of the net, and scoring to knot the score heading into the intermission.
A goal in the 58
th minute for the Cougars would prove to be the go-ahead goal, and an insurance goal in the 60
th minute sealed the 3-1 victory.
Freshman
Ali Chokr (Bint Jbail, Lebanon/Fontainebleau (La.)) went the distance in the goal for the second consecutive contest and posted six saves in the contest.
MVNU won the shot battle by an 18-12 margin, and edged Lourdes in corner kicks, 6-3.
The Gray Wolves (1-4) return to action on Saturday afternoon as they open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and travel to UM-Dearborn for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
