The Lourdes men's soccer team came up short in its second half comeback bid as it fell 3-2 in overtime to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference-foe Rochester (Mich.) at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday evening.
Rochester struck first in the contest, after Mitchel Morawksi was able to find the back of the net following a deflected ball in the 16
th minute to put the Warriors ahead 1-0.
The Gray Wolf defense would hold the Warrior offense at bay for the remainder of the first half as Rochester held a 1-0 advantage at the intermission.
It took less than two minutes into the second half for the Warriors to add to their lead, as AJ Santavy picked up another loose ball and scored to give Rochester a 2-0 lead in the 47
th minute.

Savio Adams (Cape Town, South Africa/Zeekoevlei (San Jacinto)) received a long pass from fellow junior
Brendon Long (Cave Creek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows (Scottsdale CC)) and scored on a strike from 25 yards out to close the gap to 2-1.
Freshman
Maxim Van der Auwera (Lueven, Belgium/Heilig Hartinstituut Heverlee) was able to even the score at 2-2 in the 85
th minute after capitalizing on a cross from freshman
Robert Pereznegron (Channelview, Tex./Channelview) to force overtime.
The Warriors would end the Gray Wolf momentum after scoring just over five minutes into the first overtime period to claim the 3-2 victory.
Freshman
Ali Chokr (Bint Jbail, Lebanon/Fontaineblaue (La.)) led the way in the goal with 3 saves.
Lourdes edged Rochester in shots by a 16-12 margin and won the corner kick battle by a 6-3 margin.
Lourdes (2-5-1 overall, 1-1-1 WHAC) will return to action on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they travel to Howell, Mich. To take on Cleary.
