The Lourdes men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Bethel on Wednesday evening as it opened the home portion of its schedule at Wildcat Stadium.

The contest was called with 9:32 remaining in the final period of play due to lightning in the area.
Bethel (4-1-1 overall) got out to an early lead as Finn Luben crossed a ball into traffic from the left side in the 12
th minute and Tanner Gibson headed it in for the lone goal of the first half.

The Gray Wolf defense would stifle the Pilot offense for the remainder of the half as the contest went into the intermission 1-0.

Just under four minutes into the second half, Luben found Gibson again to push the lead to 2-0 before an insurance goal in the 53
rd minute sealed the victory.

The hosts were outshot in the contest by an 18-5 margin, while Bethel won the corner kick battle by a 6-3 margin.

Lourdes was led defensively by freshmen
Garrett Baxley (Trenton, Ohio/Edgewood) and
Ali Chokr (Bint Jbail, Lebanon/Fontaine Bleau (LA.) as the duo recorded a combined seven saves on the evening.

The Gray Wolves (1-1 overall) return to the pitch on Saturday evening as they host Goshen at Wildcat Stadium at 7 p.m.
