The Lourdes women's basketball team came out strong in the second half and picked up an impressive 89-45 road victory over Wright State-Lake in the final non-conference tilt of the season on Wednesday evening.

John Kenger. "Our team pulled together and finished strong. This was a total group effort and I'm proud of the way we played together."

Wright State-Lake (0-15 overall) hung with the Gray Wolves throughout the first half, but Lourdes enjoyedhr a 41-29 halftime lead.

Jami Hardy (Perrysburg, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch) got Lourdes off to a quick start, hitting a three-pointer to give Lourdes an early 3-0 lead. After a Laker jumper knotted the game at 13-all with 2:00 left in the first quarter, Lourdes closed the quarter on an 8-0 run fueled by six points from
LaTyrah Beasley (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) to take a 21-13 lead.

Wright State-Lake regained their composure, opening the second quarter on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 21-all with 7:02 left in the first half.
Sirena Pitts (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee) ended the run with a short corner jumper before
Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) followed that up with a three-pointer to push the Lourdes lead back to five.

After the hosts pulled within 28-26,
Sydney Miller (Huntsville, Ohio/Indian Lake) hit three straight triples for Lourdes as it closed the half on a 13-3 run to take a 41-29 lead at the intermission.

The Gray Wolves came out firing in the second half, opening the third quarter on a 15-0 run capped off by a fast break layup from
Riley Raburn (Horton, Mich./Lumen Christi) to push the lead to 56-29 with 5:09 left in the third quarter.

The Lakers scored the next four points, but Miller hit back-to-back three-pointers to stifle any comeback by the hosts.

Lourdes saw its largest lead of the contest come in the waning seconds after Henry hit a pull up jumper in the lane to extend the lead to 46 points.

Henry led the charge offensively for Lourdes, scoring a season-high 16 points and adding six assists. Miller added 15 points on five three-point field goals and
Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) chipped in 11 points.

Christiana Jefferson (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame) handed out a season-best eight assists in the victory.

Lourdes finished 34-of-70 (48.6%) from the field while hitting nine three-point shots. Wright State-Lake went 16-of-54 (29.6%) from the floor, including three three-pointers.

The Gray Wolves dominated on the glass, winning the battle on the boards by a 47-29 margin.

Lourdes (9-13) travels to nationally-ranked Michigan-Dearborn for a 1 p.m. tipoff on Saturday afternoon at the UMD Fieldhouse.
