Lourdes began the second half of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, falling to Indiana Tech 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Warriors' defense limited the Lourdes offense to just .122 hitting on the evening, registering 12 blocks, while Indiana Tech's offense hit .261 for the match.

"We never found our rhythm in any facet of the match tonight," head coach
Greg Reitz said after the match. "We let Indiana Tech dictate the tempo and determine how the match would be played and we never adjusted."

With the opening set tied at 11, Indiana Tech scored six of the next eight points to take the lead for good, hitting .300 in the stanza while putting down 17 kills. In the second set, the Warriors took the lead for good with four straight points early in the set. Lourdes was able to pull within one several times, the latest at 20-19, but was never able to even the frame after 9-9.

Indiana Tech (19-6, 7-4 WHAC) never trailed in the third set, forcing eight attack errors from Lourdes, on the way to completing the sweep.

Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led Lourdes with 12 kills offensively while
Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) registered 17 digs on the defensive end of the floor.

Jordan Aylward hit .480 with 13 kills to lead the Warriors while Madeline MacDonald had a match-high 18 digs.

Lourdes (8-11, 5-6) will look to snap a four-match losing skid on Friday evening, as the Gray Wolves travel to Dearborn, Mich. to battle Michigan-Dearborn. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the UMD Fieldhouse.
