Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Gray Wolves Fall on the Road at Indiana Tech

Lourdes returned to the road on Wednesday evening, dropping a 3-0 decision to Indiana Tech at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Ind.

"Indiana Tech is a very talented and well-coached team," head coach Matt Johnson said after the match.  "Our effort was quite good, but they were able to play with a tempo and quality that was a bit too much for us tonight.  If we can play with the same urgency and pace going forward, I am confident we'll see some results.  Despite what the scoreboard showed, we feel like we took a step forward."

The Warriors took the lead with 7:45 to play before halftime as Jaxon Simerman headed in a free kick from Pep Casas.  The tally was the lone goal of the opening stanza, with Indiana Tech holding a 9-1 shot advantage.

Indiana Tech (5-4, 2-0 WHAC) added to its lead 10:18 into the second half as Noe Garcia chipped a ball into the box and Brendan Sidaway found the side of the goal.  Luke Jones made it a three-goal advantage just 1:07 later, scoring into the upper left corner of the net.

The hosts finished with a 15-3 shot advantage, putting 10 of the attempts on goal.  Lourdes put all three of its shots on net, forcing Edwin Rosado to make the three saves to earn the shutout.  Ali Chokr (Bint Jbail, Lebanon/Fontainebleau [La.] H.S.) made seven saves in net for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes (2-7, 0-2) will remain on the road Saturday afternoon, traveling to Pontiac, Mich. to face Rochester (Mich.).  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Ultimate Soccer Arena.
