Lourdes took a five-point lead into the final quarter on Tuesday evening, but Grace Christian rallied for a 70-65 victory over the Gray Wolves inside the Aldrich Athletic Facility in Wyoming, Mich.

Trailing 34-29 at the half, Lourdes scored eight of the first 10 points of the third quarter, taking the lead on an
Erica Cary (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg County H.S.) three-pointer. A 9-1 run later in the quarter gave the Gray Wolves an eight-point advantage before Lourdes took a 50-45 lead into the final stanza.

The Tigers went on an 8-0 run to open the fourth period to take the lead for good and extended the advantage to eight with a 13-5 spurt later in the quarter. A
Mare West (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) with 13 seconds left pulled Lourdes to within three, but Grace Christian made a pair of free throws at the end to secure the victory.

Grace Christian (2-2) built a 15-8 lead midway through the first quarter, and never trailed in the opening half while building its five-point halftime lead.

"We are young and made a lot of young mistakes," head coach
John Kenger said after the game. "This is a great group of ladies and hopefully we will learn from tonight and get better."

Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) led Lourdes with 12 points while
Hunter Kershaw (Columbus, Ohio/Westland H.S.) tallied 11 more to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. West added 10 points for the Gray Wolves.Â

Lourdes shot just 39% from the floor and committed 19 turnovers, but outrebounded the Tigers 40-36.

Emily Libey led Grace Christian with 18 points off the bench as the Tigers shot 46.6% from the field and committed just 14 miscues.

Lourdes (0-2) will return to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Olivet. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
