Lourdes jumped out to a 25-4 lead less than seven minutes into the game and never looked back on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves defeated Wright State-Lake 114-56 inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The 114 points Lourdes scored on the evening are the most in a game in program history. The Gray Wolves shot 56.2% from the floor and 13 of the 14 players that dressed found the scoring column on the evening, and Lourdes outrebounded the Lakers 60-33 for the night.

"I thought we did a nice job tonight," head coach
Dennis Hopson said following the win. "We got the chance to play a lot of different guys. I was impressed with our 60 rebounds and 62 points we scored in the paint. It shows the guys paid attention to the keys in our scouting report."

After Wright State-Lake scored on the opening possession of the game, the Gray Wolves responded with 20 of the next 22 points to build a double-digit lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way. The Lakers cut the Lourdes advantage to 12, 30-18, following a 13-3 run, but the Gray Wolves responded with a 24-6 spurt of their own on the way to building a 56-29 lead at intermission.

Julian Egbo (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.), who finished with 23 points on 9-of-10 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds, had a first half double-double, tallying 19 points and pulling down 12 boards in the opening 20 minutes.Â

The Gray Wolves scored 17 of the first 20 points of the second half to push the lead to 73-32 and led by no fewer than 36 the rest of the way while returning to the .500 mark on the season.

Lourdes had five players finish in double figures in the scoring column, including
Christian Wagenhauser (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) and
Bryce McComb (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.) who tallied 13 and 12 points respectively off the bench.Â
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) added 12 points while
Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) chipped in 11 more.

Nick Welch (Temperance, Mich./Saint Mary Catholic Central H.S.) pulled down 12 rebounds while
Kenny Coleman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) dished out six assists.

"We still need to do a better job at the free throw line, as we missed 10 tonight," Hopson added. "That's what wins games. We also need to be more solid on defense and stop jumping around."

Charles Aden led Wright State-Lake (3-6) with 16 points as the Lakers shot just 29% from the floor on the night while committing 20 turnovers.

Lourdes (2-2) will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to battle fourth-ranked Indiana Tech. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside the Schaefer Center.
