Lourdes won all four matches at the John Carroll Duals on Sunday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves dropped just six of 40 bouts on the afternoon inside of the Decarlo Varsity Center in University Heights, Ohio.

The Gray Wolves posted a pair of shutouts, blanking Penn State Behrend 47-0 to open the day while shutting out Pittsburgh-Bradford 50-0. Lourdes was a 42-10 victory over Urbana in the second contest of the day before the Gray Wolves concluded the afternoon with a 24-16 triumph over host John Carroll.

"This was an incredible team effort from all 10 wrestlers today," head coach
Dock Kelly III said afterwards. "Every individual match was vital in helping us secure all four dual match victories. We are incredibly proud of the way our guys competed all day long. It was especially sweet to defeat John Carroll in their home arena and in a very hostile environment."

In the shutout over Penn State Behrend,
Ray Porter (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville H.S.) started the match quickly with a pin just 11 seconds into his 125-pound contest.Â
Jimmy Balazy (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) followed with a 20-7 major decision at 133 before Lourdes picked up a forfeit victory at 141 pounds.

Garrett Carter (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Saint Vincent-Saint Mary H.S.) and
Garret Anderson (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) added major decisions as well, winning 8-0 and 13-4 at 149 and 157 pounds respectively.Â
Tristan Brady (Deefield, Ohio/Elyria H.S.) added a fall just 33 seconds into his match at 165 pounds.

In the upper weights,
Grant Pittroff (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg H.S.) and
Alec Moore-Nash (Price Hill, Ohio/Elder H.S.) both earned decisions at 174 and 285 pounds while
Isaac Ingram (Lima, Ohio/Bath H.S.) earned a technical fall, 16-0, at 184 pounds. Â
Nick Caruso (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville H.S.) added the Gray Wolves' third first period fall of the match, winning in just 24 seconds at 197 pounds.

As the day moved along, Lourdes recorded a forfeit win to start the match against Urbana before Balazy earned a 17-1 technical fall.Â
Nick Henneman (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) followed with a fall just 1:55 into his opening period at 141 pounds before Carter enjoyed the same success with a pin at the 2:42 mark of his match.

Urbana won at 157 pounds before Brady notched his second fall of the day, this one at the 1:04 mark and Pittroff added one of his own, recording the pin at the 5:32 mark in the third period. The Knights added a win at 184 pounds before Caruso scored a 11-8 decision and Moore-Nash capped the contest with a 10-2 major decision.

In the shutout of Pittsburgh-Bradford, Lourdes needed to wrestle in just four weight classes, winning the other six spots via forfeit. Balazy and Brady both recorded major decisions, winning 11-3 and 16-8 respectively, while Pittroff and Moore-Nash tallied 14-7 and 5-3 decisions.

The Gray Wolves jumped out to a quick lead against John Carroll before holding on for the victory. Porter and Balazy started with 8-5 and 10-6 decision victories before Henneman added a pin with just 34 seconds remaining in the match. The Blue Streaks won at 149 pounds before Anderson earned a hard-fought 11-10 win at 157 pounds. Brady finished with his third fall of the day, this one at the 1:20 mark, putting Lourdes in front 21-3.

John Carroll battled back with wins in the next three matches to pull within five, 21-16, but Moore-Nash clinched the victory with a 2-1 decision in the heavyweight spot.

"We will take a few days off and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday before we come back to prepare for Adrian College," Kelly concluded.

Lourdes (5-1) will head to Adrian, Mich. to battle the Bulldogs on Dec. 5. Action begins at 7 p.m. inside the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.
