Taking to the road for the first time this season, Lourdes went to overtime with Mount Vernon Nazarene on Friday evening, but the eighth-ranked Cougars defeated the Gray Wolves 95-87 inside of Ariel Arena in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Â
"On the road it's tough," head coach
Dennis Hopson said after the game. "It was a hard fought battle. We just need to continue to get better each day."
Â
Julian Egbo (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers H.S.) made a three-pointer as time expired in the first half to give Lourdes a 46-45 lead at the break, and the Gray Wolves never trailed by more than one in the second half before the Cougars rallied in the final seconds to force the extra session.

The second half was tight throughout, with the Gray Wolves never holding a lead of more than four points. Lourdes led 74-71 in the closing seconds when Jevon Knox tied the game with 10 seconds to play, forcing overtime.
