Lourdes dropped matches to 17
th-ranked Indiana Tech 39-7 and fourth-ranked Marian 32-16 before rebounding to close the Warrior Duals with a 33-24 victory over Thomas More on Saturday afternoon inside the Warrior Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

"The competition at these duals was as tough as we thought it would be," head coach
Dock Kelly III said afterwards.  "Unfortunately, we failed to capitalize on multiple opportunities where we could have defeated ranked wrestlers."

The 12
th-ranked Gray Wolves opened the day against host Indiana Tech.  Lourdes started quick as
Ray Porter (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville H.S.) scored a 6-0 decision at 125 pounds.  After the Warriors scored a fall at 133,
Nick Henneman (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) put the Gray Wolves back in front with a 12-2 major decision at 141 pounds.

Indiana Tech (2-2) would win the remaining seven bouts though, including three via fall, to pull away in the match.

Against the Knights, Porter was awarded a forfeit victory and
Jimmy Balazy (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) followed with an 11-3 major decision to give Lourdes a 10-0 lead through two weight classes.

Marian (6-2) would take the next seven matches before the Gray Wolves found the scoreboard again.
Alec Moore-Nash (Price Hills, Ohio/Elder H.S.) concluded the contest with a pin at 285 pounds, closing out his match just 1:48 into the opening period.

Lourdes built a big lead early against Thomas More on the way to closing the day with a victory.  Porter completed a perfect day with a pin just 11 seconds into the opening bout before Balazy followed with a fall of his own at the 1:55 mark of the opening period.

Henneman made it 18-0 Gray Wolves with a fall at 1:39, giving Lourdes three first period pins.
Chris Jedding (Mason, Ohio/Mason H.S.) scored a 9-6 decision at 149 pounds and
Garret Anderson (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) followed with a second period fall to increase the lead to 27-0 Gray Wolves.

Thomas More (4-5) rallied with three falls and a forfeit victory to close within three, but Moore-Nash won via forfeit at heavyweight to close out the match.

"We will take some time to rest and recover, and then we will get ready to compete on the national stage down in Louisville in early January," Kelly concluded.

Lourdes (8-4) will be idle until Jan. 10-11 when the Gray Wolves head to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the NWCA NAIA Multi Duals.  The team pairings for the event will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
