Lourdes fell behind early on Saturday afternoon and could never recover as the Gray Wolves dropped a 74-54 setback to Concordia (Mich.) inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Cardinals jumped out to an 8-0 lead just over two minutes into the game and ended the opening stanza on an 11-2 run in building a 31-12 advantage after 10 minutes.

After Concordia increased its lead to 23 in the first two minutes of the second quarter, Lourdes battled back. The Gray Wolves held the Cardinals without a field goal for the final 7:55 of the half and closed on a 15-2 run of its own to pull within 10, 38-28, at the break.

The Gray Wolves were able to cut the deficit to eight, and were still within single digits at 48-39 with four minutes to play in the third before Concordia went on a quick 11-2 spurt to rebuild an 18-point edge. Lourdes was unable to pull closer than 15 in the final 10 minutes of action.

Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) and
Logan Ingram (Mount Pleasant, Mich./Mount Pleasant H.S.) led Lourdes with 10 points each, with Green and
Sirena Pitts (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee H.S.) both pulling down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Gray Wolves committed 29 turnovers, which led to 36 Cardinal points.

J'may Simmons led Concordia (6-4, 4-2 WHAC) with 19 points and seven boards while Katie Snow added 14 points.

Lourdes (3-9, 2-5) will close out the home portion of the 2019 calendar year next Saturday, as the Gray Wolves host Siena Heights. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
