Fourth-ranked Lourdes continued its road trip on Friday evening, as the Gray Wolves scored a 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 victory over 10
th-ranked Clarke inside the Kehl Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Evan Gebert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider H.S.) put down 14 kills while
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) and
Ricardo Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) added 11 kills each.Â
Henrique Gehrke (Blumenau, Brazil/Escola Barao Do Rio Branco H.S.) handed out 42 assists while leading the offense to a .311 hitting percentage for the night.

"This was a great win for us," head coach
Greg Reitz said afterwards. "We traveled all day to get here and played a solid match. Our offense was efficient and our defense earned us a lot of extra swings. We served well and were able to pressure their offense."

With Lourdes leading nearly the entire opening set, the Pride went on a 5-1 run late to take a 22-20 advantage. The Gray Wolves responded with the next two points to tie the stanza, and scored the final three to take the early lead in the match.

Five straight points midway through the second set allowed the Gray Wolves to build a 17-10 lead in the stanza, and Lourdes held off a late Pride run, in which the hosts cut their deficit to one, 20-19, on the way to a 2-0 match advantage.

Clarke led a tight third set, 22-21, before Lourdes scored the next three points to pull in front for good on the way to completing the sweep.

Ricardo Gehrke hit .421 and Lam swung at a .350 clip as the Gray Wolf offense clicked most of the night.Â

Defensively,
Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil/Alberto Giovanni H.S.) tallied a match-high 16 digs while
Brendan Brown (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny H.S.) blocked four balls.

Bryant Eckstein led Clarke (4-4) with nine kills and hit .389 while Derek Gascon had a team-high seven digs.Â

Lourdes (6-2) closes out its five-match road trip on Saturday afternoon, as the Gray Wolves travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to battle Cardinal Stritch. The opening serve is set for 4:30 p.m. EST inside of Shorewood High School.
