Lourdes had its 11-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday evening, as the Gray Wolves suffered a five-set loss, 25-27, 15-25, 25-23, 25-16, 15-8 inside of the Timken Center in Gaffney, S.C.
 
"This was a tough way to end our road trip, but we gained a lot of knowledge and experience from this match," head coach Greg Reitz said afterwards.  "We are a better team after this match because of that."
 
The Gray Wolves started quickly, hitting .407 with 16 kills in the opening set.  There were 15 ties and seven lead changes before Lourdes capitalized on its third set point.  The Gray Wolves hit even better, .484 with 18 kills, in the second while allowing just five kills from the Saints in building a 2-0 lead.  Lourdes raced out to a 7-2 lead and never trailed in the stanza.
 
In the third, Lourdes put down 20 kills and hit .318, but five service errors hindered the Gray Wolves.  The set was tied at 23 before Limestone scored the final two points to extend the match.  Lourdes led 10-6 in the fourth before an 11-0 Saints run allowed the hosts to even the match.  Lourdes hit -.129 in the set, committing 11 errors.
 
In the finale, Limestone never trailed and limited Lourdes to just four kills against five errors.  With the set tied at seven, the Saints scored eight of the final nine points to complete the comeback.
 
Jeff Lam (Richmond, B.C./Hugh McRoberts H.S.) led Lourdes with a double-double, tallying 23 kills and 11 digs.  He hit a team-leading .356.  Matheus Andrade (Coronel Fabriciano, Brazil./Alberto Giovanni H.S.) added 16 kills while Stefan Albrecht (Euclid, Ohio/Middleton [Wis.] H.S.) added 12 kills.  Brendan Brown (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny H.S.) added 10 kills and five blocks.
 
Brady Boyle (Alpharetta, Ga./Chattahoochee H.S.) handed out 59 assists for an offense that hit .233 on the night while Collin Holt (Dallas, Texas/Hebron H.S.) registered 22 digs.
 
Jordan Barreto led Limestone (7-7) with 11 kills as the Saints trailed Lourdes in both kills (65-40) and digs (60-41) on the night.  The Gray Wolves committed 24 service errors to keep the Saints in the match.
 
Lourdes (15-3) will return home to the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Goshen.  First serve is set for 7 p.m.
