Lourdes continued non-conference play on the road Monday evening, suffering a 3-0 setback to Shawnee State at the Shawnee Turf Field in Portsmouth, Ohio.

The Bears struck first just 11:08 into the contest as Kevin de Lange scored the match's first goal with Thomas de Graauw drawing the assist. Shawnee State (5-3) increased its lead to 2-0 before halftime as Mark de Graaf headed home a corner kick from de Lange.

Shots were even in the opening 45 minutes 7-7, including 4-4 on goal.

Shawnee State added one final insurance tally with just under 25 minutes to play as de Graauw tallied a goal with Joao Toledo drawing the assist.

The Bears finished the match with a slim 15-14 shot edge, including a 9-7 edge on net.Â
Olawole Ogunsanya (Dallas, Texas/Arlington H.S.) had seven shots to lead the Gray Wolves offense, including three on goal.

Ali Chokr (Bint Jbail, Lebanon/Fontainebleau [La.] H.S.) made six saves in goal for Lourdes while Corbin Betz made seven stops for the Bears to earn the shutout.

Lourdes (2-4) will close out the non-conference portion of the schedule next Monday evening, Sept. 23, as the Gray Wolves travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Kalamazoo College. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at MacKenzie Field.
