Lourdes opened a four-match homestand on Wednesday evening, dropping a 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 decision to Lawrence Tech inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

The Gray Wolves were held to just .096 hitting for the evening while the Blue Devils put down 47 kills and hit .221.

"We need to run a much more efficient offense and put balls away," head coach Greg Reitz said following the match.  "We didn't serve tough enough to put pressure on them."

Lawrence Tech jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the opening set and never trailed in the stanza.  The Gray Wolves closed to within two, 9-7, but the Blue Devils gradually pulled away.  In the second, an early 10-3 lead allowed the visitors to build an 11-5 lead and Lourdes was unable to get any closer than four the rest of the way.

The third set was tight throughout, and was tied at 19 when Lawrence Tech was able to score back-to-back points to take the lead for good and close out the win.

Kylee McBride (Peoria, Ariz./Mountain Ridge H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with eight kills and added 12 digs while Allie Hale (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) chipped in seven kills.  Yasmin Assis (Salto, Brazil/Antonio Alves Aranha H.S.) registered a double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs.

Defensively, Alli Plasencio (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic H.S.) recorded14 digs while Elise Sanford (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) had four blocks.

Zakia Hunt led Lawrence Tech (8-1, 2-0 WHAC) with 14 kills while hitting .619.  Kristi Doherty handed out 34 assists and had 19 digs.

Lourdes (3-6, 0-2) will remain at home on Friday evening as the Gray Wolves host Michigan-Dearborn.  First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Ebeid Rec Center.
