Lourdes opened the 2020 competitive cheer season on Sunday afternoon, posting a pair of victories over Point Park in dual meet action inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
 
The Gray Wolves won the first competition 76.5-73.05 before posting a 79.1-74.15 victory in the second event.
 
"I am so proud of how well the team performed today," head coach Chelsea Leis said after the meet.  "After a lot of adversity this week, they were able to come together and perform two solid routines.  We have a lot of work to do as we progress through the season, but overall today was a very strong start."
 
Lourdes had a clean routine void of deductions in the first contest, but scored better overall in the second routine, despite a 0.5-point deduction.
 
Lourdes will have nearly two weeks off before returning to action at the Wildcat Invitational Jan. 24-25 in Marion, Ind.  The event, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan, begins at 6 p.m. on Jan. 24 inside of Luckey Arena.
