For the sixth time in the last eight games, Lourdes emerged victorious, as the Gray Wolves defeated Cornerstone 68-59 on Wednesday evening inside of Mol Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"This was a great win on the road for us," head coach
John Kenger said following the game. "We worked hard and closed when we needed to."

The Gray Wolves got a great deal of production from the bench in the victory, as
Erica Cary (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg County H.S.) led Lourdes with 18 points while
Sirena Pitts (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee H.S.) registered a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Lourdes took the lead for good with a 9-2 run late in the opening period to build a 23-17 lead. Cornerstone pulled within one twice in the second quarter, only to have Lourdes score six straight points to rebuild its advantage on the way to taking a 38-30 lead into the locker room.

The Golden Eagles cut into the lead in the third, closing to within two, 44-42, with three minutes to play in the period, but seven straight points by Lourdes in a two-minute span increased the advantage back to nine. Cornerstone pulled within three, 53-50, with seven minutes remaining in the game, but Lourdes scored six of the next seven points and made 13-of-16 free throws in the quarter to secure the win.

Sara Semler (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) went 8-for-8 from the free throw line on her way to 17 points while
Mirandia Green (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer H.S.) added 14 more. The Gray Wolves offset shooting just 30.5% from the floor with a season-low five turnovers and made 26-of-30 (86.7%) from the free throw line.

Allyson Richards led Cornerstone (3-25, 1-17 WHAC) with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Shelby Nyboer added 16 points.

Lourdes (10-17, 6-11) returns home on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves entertain Rochester (Mich.). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
