Lourdes raced out to a 16-point lead less than nine minutes into the game and cruised to a 78-48 victory over Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves celebrated Senior Night inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.

Prior to the game, the 23
rd-ranked Gray Wolves honored
Bryce McComb (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.), the lone senior on this year's squad. McComb would go on to tally 11 points, including three three-point field goals giving him 100 for his career. He also handed out five assists in the regular season home finale.

Dennis Hopson said afterwards. "He has always been solid with his work ethic and I thought he had a great game tonight."

When the game tipped off, Lourdes made eight of its first 10 shots from the floor, taking an 18-4 lead just six minutes into the game. The Gray Wolves then held Lawrence tech without a field goal for nearly seven minutes, increasing the lead to 21-5.

Lourdes slowly continued to extend its advantage the rest of the half, pushing the advantage to as many as 25 in the opening 20 minutes before taking a 37-16 lead into the locker room.

"I thought the key tonight was that we defended well," Hopson added. "Everyone was clicking on all cylinders and we were energetic both on and off of the ball."

Lourdes scored the first nine points of the second half to increase the lead to 30 just over three minutes into the stanza, and would lead by at least 25 the rest of the way, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Nick Welch (Temperance, Mich./Saint Mary Catholic Central H.S.) led Lourdes with 14 points and eight rebounds while
Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) added 11 more. Â
Kenny Coleman (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) chipped in 10 points and five assists.

Lourdes shot 56.1% from the floor on the night while defensively holding the Blue Devils to just 30.8% shooting and forced 17 turnovers.

Gunnar Gustafson had a double-double for Lawrence Tech (10-16, 5-14 WHAC) with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Alek Ivanovic added 11 points.

With the win, Lourdes reached the 20-victory plateau for just the second time in school history. The Gray Wolves have also secured a home game for the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.

Lourdes (20-9, 13-6) will close out the regular season on Saturday, as the Gray Wolves travel to Lima, Ohio to face the University of Northwestern Ohio. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside of Racer Gymnasium.
