Final Results
Led by a championship at 141 pounds by
Nick Henneman (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.), Lourdes finished in fourth place as a team at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships held at Mueller Sports Center in Bartlesville, Okla.

The league championships were conducted in conjunction with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference as a combined qualifier for the NAIA National Championships.

"This was an incredibly tough tournament," head coach
Dock Kelly III said afterwards. "Our wrestlers battled hard, and I'm proud of the way that they fought over these past two days."

As a team Lourdes finished with 133 points, just 14 behind third place Saint Mary (Kan.). Oklahoma City claimed the title with 225 points while Indiana Tech was runner-up with 203.5 points in the field of 13 schools.

Henneman began his day winning in a major decision 15-3 against Jaxen Gilmoure of Oklahoma City to advance to the title bout. In the championship, the redshirt-sophomore scored a 5-4 decision against Kyle Kantola of Indiana Tech.

Ray Porter (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville H.S.) finished in second place at 125 pounds. He defeated Jake Ayers of Saint Mary in a 12-7 decision in the semifinals before falling to Montana Moon of Oklahoma City in a 5-2 decision in the title bout. Porter had to wrestle a challenge match for second place, defeating Harley Williamson of York in a 10-8 decision.

Garrett Carter (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Saint Vincent-Saint Mary H.S.) battled through the consolation bracket to finish in fourth place at 149 pounds. He won an 11-6 decision over Saint Mary before posting a 5-3 sudden victory against Indiana Tech to advance to the third place match, where he eventually fell to another Saint Mary wrestler in a 3-2 setback.

The Gray Wolves had several other placers at the championships.Â
Jimmy Balazy (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) placed sixth at 133. Â He earned a victory over Texas Wesleyan on the final day with a fall in the third period.Â
Ryan Marvin (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton H.S.) also finished sixth at 165 pounds. He opened his day with a win over Saint Mary in an 8-7 decision.

Isaac Ingram (Lima, Ohio/Bath H.S.) posted a sixth place finish at 184 pounds. He scored a 21-5 technical fall against York on Saturday.

Alec Moore-Nash (Price Hill, Ohio/Elder H.S.) scored a seventh place finish with a pin at the 2:20 mark of the opening period against Bethany.Â
Garret Anderson (Oregon, Ohio/Clay H.S.) was credited with a seventh place finish at 157 while
Greg Briggs (Seville, Ohio/Cloverleaf H.S.) placed eighth in the same weight class.Â
Chris Jedding (Mason, Ohio/Mason H.S.) earned an eighth place finish at 149 pounds.

Henneman and Porter have both automatically qualified for the NAIA National Championships which will take place March 6-7 in Park City, Kan. Â Action begins on day one at 11 a.m. EST inside of Hartman Arena.
